Role
Antares is hiring a Nuclear Engineer I/II for its nuclear engineering team, where the engineer becomes responsible for a key component of the company's reactor design. Assignments may cover reactivity controls and instrumentation, radiation shielding, fuels, materials, thermal hydraulics, safety or licensing, and engineers are expected to work as generalists when needed.
Responsibilities: Assist with neutronics modelling and simulation using MCNP, Serpent or SCALE, and support multiphysics analyses covering thermal hydraulics, heat transfer and structural mechanics. Take part in experimental validation of simulation results, hardware demonstrations and prototype testing. Work with senior engineers on iterative design tasks and contribute to documentation and regulatory reporting.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering or a related technical field, and familiarity with neutron transport software such as MCNP, Serpent or SCALE.
Preferred experience: Python or a similar programming language, coursework or internships involving multiphysics modelling, interest or experience in microreactors, heat-pipe-cooled reactors or other advanced reactors, exposure to fast-paced projects, the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly, and strong communication skills.
Working arrangements: The posting covers two levels with separate base pay bands; the hiring level and salary are set case by case based on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. Under U.S. export regulations (ITAR), applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees or asylees, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
