Role
Antares is hiring a Nuclear Operations Lead/Manager to lead its Nuclear Operations organization. The role is responsible for ensuring that the company's reactors can be deployed, started and operated as complete systems in line with the design basis, safety basis and plant programs, and for identifying and developing reactor operating personnel.
Responsibilities: Oversee safe and efficient operation of reactor experiments and plant facilities. Own nuclear training programs for operators and maintenance personnel, determine staffing needs and develop the procedures, people and programs needed to operate test and deployed reactors. Set operational performance standards, lead technical reviews and working groups with internal and external stakeholders, and feed lessons back to engineering and program teams to make reactor deployments more scalable and repeatable.
Requirements: Four or more years of experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense or another highly regulated technical environment; experience delivering complex multidisciplinary systems or projects; a demonstrated ability to connect technical, regulatory and operational requirements into executable plans; the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments; and strong technical communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred experience: A BS, MS or PhD in nuclear, mechanical, chemical, aerospace or related engineering; reactor operations, startup, commissioning or deployment; nuclear safety and compliance programs; work with customers, regulators or external partners; and U.S. Navy nuclear program, national laboratory or commercial nuclear experience.
Working arrangements: Under U.S. export regulations (ITAR), applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees or asylees, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
