General Matter is hiring a Superintendent, CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) in Paducah, Kentucky to oversee onsite civil, structural and architectural field operations. The superintendent manages construction execution so that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality.
Responsibilities: Direct daily CSA field activities and coordinate labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors. Work with design engineers on upcoming scopes, giving constructability input on specifications, drawings and details, and build look-ahead schedules that support progress tracking, change management and cost awareness. The superintendent enforces site safety programs through toolbox talks and inspections, coordinates quality control inspections, resolves field conflicts and RFIs from drawings and shop drawings, and keeps daily reports, progress photos and manpower counts.
Requirements: At least seven years of experience and a strong understanding of construction and engineering fundamentals. Candidates must be able to manage several complex subcontractor work packages, make clear decisions from first principles with partial information, and show exceptional ability through prior projects, completed work, technical accomplishments or a portfolio.
Preferred experience: Work in fast-paced engineering or highly technical environments and a resourceful approach to delivering under tight timelines or budgets.
