Role
Oklo is hiring a Director of Development Engineering to lead civil, site and nuclear engineering that moves Aurora powerhouse sites into construction readiness. The team produces site layouts, basis-of-design packages and engineering inputs for permitting, financing and construction handoff.
Responsibilities: Direct geotechnical, hydrological, grading and infrastructure work and manage engineering consultants. Own site-constraints packages and schedules, conduct stage-gate technical risk reviews, and coordinate reactor requirements with site conditions. Build the development engineering team and support isotope facilities, co-located buildings and Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses.
Requirements: At least 12 years in energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing or data-center project development engineering, including at least five years in leadership. A strong civil/site engineering background and experience producing deliverables for project financing and engineering, procurement and construction handoff are required. The role calls for clear technical communication and cross-disciplinary coordination.
Preferred experience: A Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred. Nuclear project experience is highly valued, and experience with Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission-regulated facilities is a significant advantage.
Working arrangements: Remote staff must visit Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter. Onboarding requires two weeks in Santa Clara. Export controls may limit eligibility to U.S. persons; offers depend on necessary authorizations. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
