Role
Oklo is hiring an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to develop measurement and control systems for reactor operation. The position may support powerhouse engineering or isotope reactors within the isotopes organization.
Responsibilities: Integrate sensors, instruments, actuators and control components. Serve as responsible engineer for system requirements, design, testing and commissioning, develop industrial control strategies, and coordinate engineering analyses. Provide feedback to design teams and document technical work.
Requirements: Experience specifying and integrating temperature, pressure, radiation, neutron and other process instrumentation. Candidates need measurement, signal-conditioning, data-acquisition and logic-diagram experience, system/component requirements development, and industrial automation/control-strategy experience. EPC/vendor oversight, analog and digital circuits, digital networks and communication protocols are required. U.S. citizenship is required under the stated NRC/DOE requirements, and applicants must be able to provide proof.
Preferred experience: Thermal-energy conversion systems, electricity transmission, power electronics and Python.
Working arrangements: Remote staff must visit Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter. Onboarding requires two weeks in Santa Clara. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
