Role
Oklo is hiring an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design and integrate measurement, control and protective functions for advanced-nuclear test platforms. The role spans equipment selection, fabrication, commissioning, operations and configuration management.
Responsibilities: Develop control architectures, I/O strategies, logic, alarms and operator graphics. Specify instrumentation, maintain loop and network documentation, execute acceptance tests and troubleshoot test systems. Coordinate suppliers and control hardware/software changes under engineering and quality requirements.
Requirements: A bachelor's in mechanical, chemical, nuclear engineering or a related technical field. Candidates need experience designing, specifying, procuring, commissioning or troubleshooting process/mechanical equipment, plus experience with P&IDs, process-flow diagrams, calculations, specifications and vendor drawings. Knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure equipment or similar components and ability to perform fluid-flow, pressure-drop, heat-transfer and sizing calculations are required. The role requires lifting, moving and positioning equipment up to 30 pounds and practical industrial control-system knowledge.
Preferred experience: Emerson DeltaV, thermal-hydraulic or liquid-metal tests, regulated industries, functional safety, control-system cybersecurity and ASME NQA-1. PE licensure, EIT or relevant controls/automation certification is preferred.
Working arrangements: Role-specific travel is up to 10%. Travel to headquarters or another designated location twice per quarter is required. Onboarding requires two weeks in Santa Clara. Export controls may limit eligibility to U.S. persons; offers depend on necessary authorizations. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
