Role
Oklo is hiring a Probabilistic Risk Assessment Engineer to quantify risks supporting fast-reactor design, licensing, deployment and operation. The role feeds risk insights back into engineering decisions to improve reliability and safety.
Responsibilities: Develop probabilistic risk models, identify initiating events through hazard evaluation, and build event and fault trees. Quantify sequence probabilities and consequences with analysis teams, evaluate external hazards and document findings for licensing.
Requirements: At least five years of work experience, a bachelor's or higher in nuclear, mechanical, aerospace engineering or a similar discipline, and familiarity with probabilistic risk assessment techniques. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, written communication and verbal technical communication are required.
Preferred experience: Advanced PRA training, DOE authorization or NRC Part 50/52 submissions, and CAFTA, SAPHIRE, ADAPT or RAVEN. Fast-reactor analysis, FMEA/HAZOP/what-if studies, transient or source-term analysis, human reliability, and operating-plant operations, maintenance or engineering support are advantages.
Working arrangements: Remote staff must visit Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter. Onboarding requires two weeks in Santa Clara. Export controls may limit eligibility to U.S. persons; offers depend on necessary authorizations. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
