Oklo is hiring a Project Quality Specialist to support its project Quality Assurance Program and perform hands-on inspection and quality control. Embedded with project and engineering/procurement/construction (EPC) teams, the specialist verifies work from engineering and suppliers through construction, commissioning and turnover.
Responsibilities: Develop quality plans, inspection/test plans, checklists and acceptance criteria. Review procurement clauses and supplier evidence, perform source, receiving and construction inspections, and witness tests. Document nonconformances, support root-cause and corrective-action reviews, and verify complete, traceable turnover records.
Requirements: At least 3 years in quality assurance, quality control, quality engineering, inspection, construction or related work in nuclear energy, Department of Energy work, EPC projects or another highly regulated, technically complex environment. A bachelor's in engineering, construction management, quality, physical science or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and relevant experience.
Requirements: Apply ASME NQA-1 and/or ANSI/ANS-15.8 to project work. Bring experience reviewing drawings, specifications, procedures, procurement documents, inspection/test plans, construction work packages, supplier documentation and objective evidence. Personal field-inspection experience and support for surveillance, audits, nonconformance control, corrective action and quality records are required. Applicants must work independently in active project/construction environments, exercise sound judgment, manage priorities and communicate concerns clearly.
Tools and competencies: Understand EPC quality controls, supplier qualification, material traceability, configuration/change control and field inspection across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation/control work. Software examples include Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, electronic QMS, construction/document-management systems and data-visualization tools.
Preferred experience: Nuclear construction, research/advanced reactors, fuel-cycle or DOE nuclear projects, and direct EPC work through commissioning and closeout. Credentials such as NQA-1 auditor/lead auditor, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor/Engineer/Inspector, or AWS CWI, ACI, ICC, NICET or equivalent inspection certification are bonuses. Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, DOE Order 414.1D, commercial grade dedication, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, AWS codes and ACI 318/349 is preferred, as is experience with electronic quality/construction management, document control, inspection databases and digital turnover tools.
Working arrangements: Remote availability is unresolved: the listing says Idaho Falls or Remote but requires ability to work on-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Confirm the arrangement with Oklo before relying on remote work. Supplier, contractor and project travel is required as needed. Expect two weeks of in-person onboarding in Santa Clara and twice-quarterly travel to headquarters or another designated location.
