Oklo is hiring a Regulatory Engineer to combine advanced-reactor licensing work with engineering design analysis. Technical assignments depend on the candidate's experience, background and interests.
Responsibilities: Prepare licensing documents such as the Final Safety Analysis Report, research regulations and precedent, and develop approaches to regulatory guidance. Coordinate regulatory interactions, review engineering materials and provide design feedback on licensing issues. Document technical analyses and support resolution of strategic regulatory challenges.
Requirements: A bachelor's, master's or PhD in a technical field such as nuclear, mechanical or civil engineering or physics, with experience in a technical field; experience is not limited to nuclear engineering. The role calls for in-depth knowledge of NRC advanced-reactor licensing requirements, contributions to engineering design analysis, collaborative problem-solving and clear technical writing and verbal communication.
Preferred experience: NRC or DOE requirements, research/test reactors, commercial nuclear reactors, and consensus-based nuclear and non-nuclear codes and standards.
Working arrangements: Remote staff must visit Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter. Offers depend on satisfying applicable export controls, including necessary authorizations. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
