Senior Process Equipment Engineer - Fuel Recycling

Oklo is hiring a Senior Process Equipment Engineer - Fuel Recycling to turn process concepts into construction-ready equipment and integrated systems. The role connects subsystem leads, vendors, pilot testing and facility engineering.

Responsibilities: Develop equipment specifications, sizing calculations, utility needs and procurement packages. Evaluate vendor proposals and interfaces for vessels, filters, pumps, compressors and heat exchangers. Support PFD/P&ID development, hazard reviews, factory/site acceptance tests and commissioning, and use pilot data to mature designs.

Requirements: A degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field and at least eight years of process-engineering experience. Candidates need process-equipment development, engineering-calculation experience, Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD or similar tools, and industrial gas-processing, chemical-processing or separations experience.

Preferred experience: Pilot-to-industrial scale-up, commercial or nuclear industry work, adsorption systems, heat-exchanger design, pressure-vessel specifications, compressor/blower selection, EPC procurement/vendor management and first-of-a-kind commercialization.

Working arrangements: Periodic travel to vendors, national laboratories, pilot facilities and project partners is required. Remote staff must visit Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter. Onboarding requires two weeks in Santa Clara. Export controls may limit eligibility to U.S. persons; offers depend on necessary authorizations. Employment may require drug screening and subsequent testing. A résumé and cover letter are required.
