TerraPower is hiring a Construction Oversight Engineer for the Natrium Regulatory Construction Oversight team. Reporting to the senior manager, the engineer inspects construction of Kemmerer Unit 1 and other Natrium units and supports quality assurance and supplier oversight.
The engineer develops oversight procedures, conducts inspections using Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements, reviews quality-assurance programs and commitments, and assesses supplier readiness for NRC inspections. The role also leads inspection scheduling, identifies and escalates concerns, recommends regulatory resolution paths and analyzes oversight trends with quality, procurement, fabrication and construction teams.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience, plus at least ten years of combined nuclear regulatory-compliance experience covering 10 CFR regulations and guidance and NRC reactor inspections for operating or construction projects. Strict quality-assurance practices, deadline management and strong communication are expected. Starting level and title depend on qualifications.
