Role
TerraPower is hiring a Licensed Exam Developer for the Natrium fast sodium reactor's initial-license and continuing operator-training programs. The developer creates a reactor-specific Knowledge and Abilities framework and obtains NRC approval for licensing examinations.
Responsibilities include written and simulator exams, operating tests, job-performance measures and secure item banks. The developer applies NUREG-1021, 10 CFR Part 55 and the Systematic Approach to Training, coordinates NRC reviews, responds to audits and analyzes exam results. Obtaining and maintaining Natrium Senior Reactor Operator certification is part of the role.
Minimum qualifications include a previous NRC Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator license or certification, with a license preferred, and INPO Certified Nuclear Instructor status or equivalent, or the ability to obtain certification. Five years in nuclear-plant operations and/or operator training, strong technical writing and eligibility for export-controlled projects as a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident are specified. ANSI/ANS 3.1 education and experience criteria apply.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, nuclear technology or a related technical field and at least five years developing nuclear licensing or qualification exams. Knowledge-and-Abilities mapping, NRC collaboration, NUREG-1021 exam development, SAT/task/KSA analyses, fast reactors, sodium coolant, digital controls and advanced-reactor guidance are also preferred.
The application specifically asks about five years of plant operating experience and relocation to Wyoming. Travel is 0–10%. Physical duties include prolonged sitting, stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds, with accommodations assessed individually.
