Manager, Core Component Manufacturing

TerraPower is hiring a Manager, Core Component Manufacturing for the Natrium Fuel Design and Supply team. The manager oversees reactor core hardware and non-fuel assembly fabrication, assembly shipping and transport-package design, licensing and manufacture.

The role translates design requirements into controlled procurement packages and develops manufacturing instructions, inspection plans and acceptance criteria. Responsibilities include qualifying suppliers, reviewing bids, resolving nonconformances and material substitutions, overseeing shipping documentation, managing delivery risks and improving manufacturability. The manager recruits and develops manufacturing and procurement engineers while maintaining nuclear quality, traceability and configuration control.

At least nine years of relevant experience and four years of leadership through people management or major cross-functional manufacturing projects are required. Relevant master's and doctoral degrees may count for up to two and four years of experience respectively. Candidates need analytical problem-solving, clear communication and the ability to manage concurrent work with minimal direction. ANSI/ANS 3.1 education and experience criteria apply.

A B.S. in mechanical, manufacturing or nuclear engineering, or equivalent, is preferred rather than an unconditional degree requirement. Travel is 0–10%. Physical duties include prolonged sitting, stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds, with accommodations assessed individually. Export-control review applies, and hiring may depend on timely government authorization.
