TerraPower is hiring an Operation Training Instructor/SRO Candidate to build Natrium licensed and non-licensed operator training. The selected instructor will transition to Senior Reactor Operator candidacy by attending ILT-2 or a later initial-license-training class under the Operations Staffing Plan.
Responsibilities include developing programs using the Systematic Approach to Training, pursuing initial accreditation and updating curricula as plant designs and procedures change. The instructor prepares classroom, laboratory, on-the-job and simulator examinations, incorporates operating experience, supports NRC and INPO audits and maintains auditable training records.
Requirements include an associate degree in science or engineering, at least four years of commercial nuclear-plant operator-training experience, and at least two years as a simulator instructor. Candidates must have previously held an SRO or RO license, or have at least four years of experience with SRO certification. Licensed-operator curriculum expertise, plant-simulation software, Microsoft Office and technical communication skills are expected. ANSI/ANS 3.1 education and experience criteria apply.
Application screening additionally asks about at least five years of nuclear experience, SRO licensure or SRO-certified instructor status, and INPO Training Instructor certification.
