Process Design and Integration Engineer

Role

TerraPower is hiring a Process Design and Integration Engineer to oversee non-nuclear mechanical process systems for the Natrium demonstration plant. The engineer also models Rankine-cycle and molten-salt equipment for other plants at different project stages.

Responsibilities include oversight of steam generators, feedwater and condensate systems and heat-removal equipment. The engineer integrates distributed design teams, maintains the Natrium Rankine-cycle model, supports conceptual designs and customer information requests, and coordinates with sodium and salt heat-transfer systems. Interfaces include plant modeling, structural engineering, probabilistic risk assessment, transient analysis, electrical engineering and seismic design.

A bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences or a related technical field is required. At least five years of relevant plant-design or modification experience, emphasizing process systems, is preferred. Candidates need commercial power-cycle modeling experience using tools such as Gate Cycle or Thermoflow and prior steam and non-nuclear power-plant systems experience. Cross-functional design leadership, broad engineering judgment and clear technical communication with distributed or international teams are expected. ANSI/ANS 3.1 education and experience criteria apply.

Travel is 0–10%. Physical duties include prolonged sitting, stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds, with accommodations assessed individually. Export-control review applies, and hiring may depend on timely government authorization.
