Senior Manager of Regulatory Construction Oversight

TerraPower is hiring a Senior Manager of Regulatory Construction Oversight for Natrium. Reporting to the senior director, the manager oversees construction of Kemmerer Unit 1, supplier inspections and quality-assurance programs and maintains the associated procedures and guidance.

Responsibilities include planning oversight activities and supplier assessments, managing the inspection schedule, and leading staffing, training, performance, contracted resources, reporting and budgets. The manager performs inspections, leads federal, state and local regulatory interactions, and coordinates design-engineering and partner responses to oversight issues. Participation in industry groups supports lessons learned and improvements to the program.

Requirements include a B.S. degree with a strong nuclear background and at least ten years of direct nuclear-reactor licensing, oversight management and/or inspection experience, such as work with the NRC. Candidates must demonstrate leadership of diverse technical staff, collaboration with partner organizations, clear communication and the ability to direct remote team members within a matrix organization. Advanced-reactor design, licensing and oversight experience is desirable rather than required.

The position may be based in Bellevue or Rockville. Travel is 30–50%. Physical duties include prolonged sitting, stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds, with accommodations assessed individually. Export-control review applies, and hiring may depend on timely government authorization.
