TerraPower is hiring a Test and Fill Facility Operations Manager to lead engineers and operators responsible for test-system functionality and configuration. Reporting to the facility Site Manager, the manager supports technology-development testing and daily operations.
Responsibilities include overseeing system operation and maintenance, assigning work and ensuring staff safety training and qualifications. The manager coordinates facility upgrades, large equipment moves and inventory, reviews test plans for technical feasibility, and works with safety and IT teams. Training personnel for sodium-facility incident response and participating in emergencies are part of the role.
Requirements include at least a high-school diploma and five years of relevant experience in nuclear, aerospace, industrial or mechanical industries or industrial operating environments. Extensive facility-management experience, hands-on fabrication, welding and electronics-buildout skills, high familiarity with chemical hazards and demonstrated safety-regulation expertise are expected. Candidates must solve problems independently and manage concurrent work.
Test-system configuration experience, leadership of interdisciplinary teams in a matrix organization and sodium experience are preferred. Travel is 0–10%. Physical duties include prolonged sitting, stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds, with accommodations assessed individually. Export-control review applies, and hiring may depend on timely government authorization.
