Role
The Nuclear Company is hiring a Cost Estimator to develop traceable estimates that support project development and business decisions. The role collaborates across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, regulatory and project controls, applying Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering practices and classifications appropriate to each project phase.
Responsibilities: Develop estimates from defined scopes and prepare a basis of estimate that lets another reviewer follow the rationale. Document assumptions and risks, coordinate inputs across disciplines, and work with risk specialists on quantitative analysis. Maintain auditable cost data using estimating platforms and historical benchmarks.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, 15+ years of project-controls experience and 5+ years estimating on large projects. Candidates need knowledge of project lifecycle and work breakdown structures, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with estimating software and cost databases. Familiarity with AI/ML-supported parametric, historical-data or probabilistic estimating is also required.
Preferred experience: Nuclear, power generation or other regulated projects; earned value, risk analysis and cost-schedule integration; PMP or PMI-SP certification; and startup or high-growth experience.
Eligibility: For export-control compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
