Role
The Nuclear Company is hiring a Director of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) to build the enterprise HSE, industrial hygiene and human-performance function across the company and TNC Services. This hands-on role spans corporate operations, greenfield projects, construction, field services and outages.
Responsibilities: Establish strategy, governance, metrics and safety programs, including hazard analysis, stop-work, contractor safety and industrial hygiene. Address OSHA, EPA, DOT, state environmental and commercial nuclear requirements. Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and field support while developing the future HSE team.
Requirements: 10+ years of progressive HSE leadership supporting nuclear, energy, construction, manufacturing, industrial maintenance or other complex, highly regulated operations. A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience, is required. Candidates need enterprise/multisite HSE-system building, executive reporting and high-risk field experience, plus knowledge of OSHA, environmental compliance, incident investigation and corrective-action programs.
Preferred experience: Commercial nuclear work, board/investor reporting, CSP/ASP/CIH/PMP or related credentials, NRC/INPO/EPRI familiarity, union and non-union workforces, and digital HSE analytics.
Working arrangements: Regular hybrid office presence and travel to project, construction, field, outage and customer sites are required. Candidates must be commutable or willing to relocate.
