TNC Services is hiring a PWR Long Handle Tool Technician for a temporary refueling-outage assignment at Oconee Nuclear Station in Seneca, South Carolina. Travel is scheduled for October 4, 2026. The description specifies a 27-day outage; the application asks for availability for approximately 30 days.
Responsibilities: Assemble, operate, inspect, disassemble and troubleshoot long-handle tooling for reactor-vessel, refueling, maintenance, inspection and component-handling work. Follow approved procedures and work packages, maintain tool accountability and Foreign Material Exclusion (FME), coordinate with outage teams, and support staging and restoration.
Requirements: Prior commercial nuclear plant experience and hands-on long-handle tooling experience are mandatory. General outage, refueling or reactor-maintenance experience without that tooling work does not qualify. Candidates need PWR reactor-services, refueling, reactor-vessel or related outage experience, mechanical aptitude, procedural and drawing fluency, and FME and radiological-work knowledge. They must be able to work in radiologically controlled areas and meet site-access, training and fitness-for-duty requirements.
Working arrangements: Travel to Oconee and extended shifts, nights, weekends and overtime are required as scheduled. Mobilization and demobilization travel time is paid at the applicable hourly rate for up to 12 hours each way. Mobilization per diem is $68 or $200 depending on the selected option; demobilization per diem is $68.
Eligibility: For export-control compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
