The Nuclear Company is hiring a Siting Engineer to own the technical site baseline from screening through characterization, licensing and construction readiness. The role supports Origination, accepts the site handoff at Front-End Loading (FEL) 0, and maintains continuity through FEL 1–3.
Responsibilities: Perform fatal-flaw, hazard-standoff, buildable-area, cooling-water and population/exclusion reviews. Manage geotechnical, geological, seismic, hydrological and ecological investigations, meteorological monitoring and GIS baselines. Prepare site inputs to early site permit and combined license applications and environmental reports, support NRC engagement, and translate characterization into early-works and construction packages.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in geology, geotechnical/civil/nuclear engineering, environmental science or a related discipline. Candidates need 5+ years in power-plant or large-industrial-facility siting, characterization or site licensing/environmental work. Working knowledge of 10 CFR Parts 50, 52 and 100 and relevant NRC guides, hands-on field-investigation experience, licensing- or investor-grade technical writing, and regular project-site travel are required.
Preferred experience: A master’s degree; ESP/COL, environmental-report or SSAR/FSAR Chapter 2 work; AP1000 site envelopes; construction transition; seismic hazard analysis; GIS; FEL frameworks; and PE/PG licensure.
Eligibility: For export-control compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
