Role
The Nuclear Company is hiring a Staff Civil-Structural Engineer to design, analyze and support construction of nuclear plant structures, including concrete and steel systems. The role prepares calculations, reviews constructability and works with field teams through installation.
Responsibilities: Perform structural analyses covering seismic, shielding and anchoring systems, and prepare drawings, specifications, reports and calculations. Coordinate technical solutions with field crews, designers, quality assurance and subcontractors. Resolve field issues and design changes, conduct walkdowns, verify installations and review deliverables for code compliance, including IBC, ACI, AISC and ASCE 7.
Requirements: A B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university and 8+ years of experience. Candidates need construction experience, proficiency in structural-analysis tools such as STAAD.Pro, GT STRUDL or ANSYS and CAD/ED modeling such as AutoCAD or Tekla. Familiarity with steel fabrication and design-for-fabrication methods, support for major steel-structure construction/installation, and occasional plant-site travel are required.
Preferred experience: Standard Design Qualifications, PE licensure, nuclear experience, data-driven field-issue analysis and AI/ML-enhanced structural analysis.
