The Nuclear Company is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead design and analysis of electrical systems and components for operating plants, new builds and advanced reactor projects. The role supports corporate and construction work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities: Develop short-circuit, arc-flash and relay-setting calculations, drawings, specifications and modification packages. Review vendor documents, diagnose equipment failures and support causal analysis and corrective actions. Guide junior engineers, participate in design reviews and support quality assurance and quality control.
Requirements: A B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, an Engineering in Training (EIT) license and 8+ years of engineering experience. Candidates need strong electrical fundamentals, ETAP or SKM modeling proficiency, engineering software skills such as AutoCAD/SolidWorks/ANSYS, and familiarity with NQA-1, IEEE and NEI standards. They must be capable of obtaining security clearance for unescorted nuclear-station access.
Preferred experience: PE licensure, power-industry work, causal analysis, qualified standard design, AI/ML-assisted engineering analysis and automated technical-document review.
Eligibility: For export-control compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
