Notes
Pluto naming confirmed by Oklo's own release: Pluto is the reactor system designed for plutonium-bearing fuels, part of DOE's Reactor Pilot Program; Aurora remains Oklo's flagship commercial powerhouse. The May 2026 SPP is NNSA-funded and separate from the $60M Prometheus award, but applies the Prometheus platform — first public partner-level platform application. Also named as a collaborator on the separate Brookhaven-led GridFM Genesis Phase II award (2026-09-01), not Prometheus-scoped.
Milestone log
- 2026-05-12 — Oklo and Battelle Energy Alliance sign an NNSA Strategic Partnership Project to integrate INL's Prometheus AI platform with Oklo's multiphysics design and analysis infrastructure — AI-enabled engineering workflows, modeling/simulation and compliant technical documentation for the Pluto reactor, with a human operator in the loop (logged retroactively 2026-09-17; release predates the Phase II award) (source)
- 2026-09-17 — Correction: Oklo's own May 2026 release confirms Pluto is Oklo's plutonium-bearing-fuel reactor system and part of DOE's Reactor Pilot Program — resolving the earlier naming uncertainty ('Pluto fast reactor system' per Neutron Bytes) (source)
