HH70 (Energy Singularity)

Operating · China · Tokamak

HH70 is Energy Singularity's compact tokamak in Shanghai, the world's first fully high-temperature-superconducting (HTS) tokamak, which achieved first plasma in June 2024. In early 2026 it ran steady-state long-pulse plasmas of up to 1,337 seconds.

Notes

Funding: company announced ~RMB 400m seed (2022) and ~RMB 400m Pre-A (2023); cumulative total not stated, so private funding raised not recorded. Pulse-length claims are company-reported; plasma parameters not stated. Experiments use hydrogen/deuterium (fuel field approximate).
