SST-1 is India's superconducting research tokamak at the Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, fully commissioned in 2013 after a rebuild. It has produced repeatable ~500 ms discharges; India plans a successor, SST-2, as a bridge toward an Indian DEMO.
