Originally started 1984; multiple suspensions (~65% complete). Status stays suspended: completion would target 2033 per the Nov 2025 BNDES-backed study, but the go/no-go decision was deferred in Aug 2026 to the next president (office 2027). PRIS still lists the unit as under construction; WNA marks it suspended.

• 2026-06-16 — Listed as under construction in the WNA world table (source)
• 2025-11-06 — BNDES/Eletronuclear study finds abandoning Angra 3 (BRL22-26bn) would cost about as much as completing it (BRL23.9bn); target completion 2033 if the government approves (source)
• 2026-02-12 — Brazilian government says it will decide by mid-2026 whether to resume or abandon Angra 3 (source)
• 2026-08-03 — Decision on Angra 3 deferred — expected to fall to Brazil's next president, who takes office in 2027 (source)
