Uranium Enrichment & HALEU Tracker

INB Resende uranium enrichment plant

Expanding · Brazil · Enrichment plant

Brazil's enrichment plant at INB's Resende nuclear fuel factory uses Navy-developed centrifuges and is licensed to enrich up to 5% U-235. The tenth cascade, inaugurated in November 2022, completed the first phase and covers about 70% of Angra 1's annual reload. A second phase of 30 more cascades aims to supply Angra 1 and 2 by 2033 and Angra 3 by 2037.

Notes

No current SWU figure is published. WNN (2018) cited plans for stage 1 of four modules totalling 115 tSWU/yr and stage 2 reaching 200 tSWU/yr; WNA's 'Other (INB, JNFL)' line totals 355 tSWU in 2025. target year 2037 is INB's date for supplying Angra 3. BRL figures are from 2018 reporting. The Aug 2026 milestone is a press status report, not an INB announcement.
