Barsebäck Nuclear Power Plant

Active dismantling · Sweden · Deferred (SAFSTOR)

Barsebäck's two 600 MWe BWRs on the Öresund were closed by government decision in 1999 and 2005. After internals segmentation in 2016-2019, large-scale dismantling began in 2020 and is expected to take about eight years; owner Uniper and the local council are studying new nuclear at the site.
