Shika Unit 2

Under review · Japan · Post-Fukushima restart

Shika 2 is Hokuriku Electric's 1,108 MWe (net) ABWR, offline since March 2011. Its NRA review (applied 2014) was complicated by the 1 January 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, which forced reassessment of nearby active faults; restart is expected to take years.
