Kyushu Electric is decommissioning Genkai 1 (529 MWe, retired 2015) and Genkai 2 (559 MWe, retired 2019), two older PWRs at a site whose Units 3 and 4 still operate. Both remain in the decommissioning phase, with periodic decommissioning-phase inspections completed in July 2026.
