Proposed · United States · Retired-plant restart

Low-confidence record: sources are thin or conflict. Figures below are the best available public statements, not confirmed facts.

Indian Point 2 is a retired PWR on the Hudson River north of New York City, shut in 2020 and now being decommissioned by Holtec. Holtec has floated repowering the plant and US Energy Secretary Chris Wright urged its reopening in March 2026, but Governor Kathy Hochul and local officials oppose it, and no restart application exists.
