OKG's owners decided in 2015 to close Oskarshamn 1 and 2 early; O2 has been shut since 2016 and O1 since 2017, with Oskarshamn 3 still running. Reactor internals were segmented in 2018-2019, large-scale dismantling started in 2020, and the reactor pressure vessels were fully cut up by February 2025.
