Siberian Chemical Combine (SCC) isotope separation plant, Seversk

Operating · Russia · Enrichment plant

The enrichment (isotope separation) plant of Rosatom's Siberian Chemical Combine in Seversk, listed by WISE at a nominal 3 million SWU a year. In December 2025 Rosatom launched the first block of generation 9+ centrifuges there, the third of its four enrichment sites to modernize, with further blocks due to be commissioned through 2027.

Notes

Capacity 3,000 tSWU/yr is WISE's nominal (dated) figure; modernization replaces centrifuges and may not change nameplate capacity, so no target capacity is given; 2027 is the modernization completion target. WNA (Sept 2026, from Nuclear Fuel Report 2025) gives Rosatom's combined capacity across all four sites as 29,133 tSWU/yr in 2025 (about 43% of world capacity), so WISE's dated per-plant figures understate the current total. Rosatom does not publish per-site capacity.

Timeline

  • 2017-10-16 — SCC completed dismantling two blocks of fifth-generation centrifuges, leaving sixth- to eighth-generation machines installed. (source)
  • 2025-12-02 — Rosatom launched the first block of generation 9+ centrifuges at the Seversk isotope separation plant, with further commissioning scheduled for 2025-2027. (source)
